1090 Newbie … Bicycle Aficionado who has considered bike commuting but lacks confidence and not familiar what would be best route for bike commute from point A to point B.

1090 Challenge … an invitation / encouragement from 1090 member to implement a bike commuting life style.

Striving for 10 … Bicycle Aficionado sets out to commute at least 10% of the time by bicycle instead of driving car.

In the 20’s … Bike riding 20% of the time for commute.

In the 30’s, In the 40,s … same principle as above.

In the 50’s… Congratulations! You’re making your community and our world a better / cleaner place.

In the 60’s … Savvy bicycle commuter.

In the 70’s … Hardcore bike commuter

In the 80’s … Fanatical bike commuter.

In the 90’s … Crème de la crème bike commuter.

1090 Shout Out… Members post video or photo and encourage their workplace, family, friends, and fellow countymen to go bike riding. Can be in English or any other language one is fluent in.

1090 Stoker … icon on geolocation map (non bicycle industry) members who post “1090 Shout Out” can request this icon. Empathetic to mission statement of 1090 Bicycle Society.

1090 Silver Stoker … Bicycle industry and associations (e.g. bike clubs, teams, advocacy groups). Kindred bicycle brethren who wish to promote more biking in their communities for recreation, exercise, civic camaraderie and commuting.

1090 Golden Stoker … Bicycle industry and associations (e.g. bike clubs, teams, advocacy groups). Members who wish to encourage more people bike commute. Willing to help any member explore the possibility of bicycle commuting. Willing to communicate, and explore best bike route for bike trip from point A to Point B.

1090 Platinum Stoker

Must be bicycle industry and associations (e.g. bike clubs, teams, advocacy groups). Passionate bike commuter wishes to encourage his community to bike commute. Can post video, or photo offering their volunteer service to anyone who needs help exploring bike commuting. Involves communicating with member who wishes to “strive for 10”. Studying maps and determining best route for bike commute, a secondary route is advisable. 1090 Platinum Stoker will lead the way on bicycle commute with new bike commuter.

1090 Platinum Stoker

Applicants for 1090 Platinum Stoker will have to pay $10.00, half of the cost of the background check. The background check will be conducted by SentryLink. Applicants will be fully refunded their money upon completion of first bike commute guide ride with 1090 newbie. In addition applicants will receive a free 1090 T shirt upon completion of passing background check and posting their profile on website.

Applicants must not have the following:

*Felony conviction

*Sexual predator conviction of any sort

*Stalking conviction of any sort

*Hate crime conviction of any sort

If applicant has a case pending in the courts in their jurisdiction this will bar applicant from being approved for this volunteer position, i.e. 1090 Platinum Stoker.

1090 Bicycle Society wishes to convey putting safety first when choosing to bike ride. Always wear a helmet.
